My Top 5 Superhero Movies

My love for superhero movies never ends- even though I have treated myself to a host of movies till date. Whether it is the older renditions of Batman and Superman or movies like Hellboy, I just can’t get my eyes off a superhero movie. I can safely assume that I have seen every superhero movie that has been produced. So, today, I am sharing with you my top 5 superhero movies. These are all based on my personal preferences.
Logan
One of the newest and the hardest hitting, Logan was a superhero movie beyond compare. Sure, it lacked the high-flying moves and laser wars like other superhero movies, but it was one that had a lot of substance. Logan also brings us a career defining movie for Hugh Jackman who has played the role of Wolverine for almost a decade now. His appearance as an older Logan is not just realistic but it also brings us to the future of X-Men. The storytelling is so beautiful that you feel helpless, nostalgic and empowered, all at the same time.
The Dark Knight Trilogy
If I used each of the movies in this list separately, it would be a crime. The Batman trilogy featuring Christian Bale as a serious and brooding Batman comes with some of the most interesting and befitting portrayals of the superhero. It’s about as close to a realistic adaptation of Batman as one can get. Granted, it helps that a character like batman has a lot of money to spend, which means even in the real world, he could afford to be a superhero. But that’s only used as a backdrop in the Dark Knight movies to talk about larger themes of class discrimination, morality, and the nature of vigilantism. The direction of Christopher Nolan and the work by the entire cast is so good and exceptionally high-rated, that you cannot watch one movie. This is one of the most amazing Batman films out there- in the form of a trilogy that you will love forever.
Spider-Man 2
This is one of the best superhero movies of all times and most fans will agree. Spider-Man 2 consisted of Toby Maguire’s best ever portrayal of the superhero on screen. Though I love the current Spidey franchise too, there was something about Toby’s vulnerable, love-struck and newly powerful portrayal of Peter Parker that always clicks with me. Dr. Octopus brings back one of the most formidable enemies he has ever had and the movie is amazing in all aspects.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
It really doesn’t need to be said that the web-slinger is not only one of the most popular comic book characters, but he’s also one of the most popular cartoon characters in history, and his animated legacy is lifted higher with this latest outing. With groundbreaking animation, a fresh concept, and the long-awaited introduction of Miles Morales as Spider-Man, Into the Spider-Verse is not only one of the best superhero movies, but it might also be one of the best animated films in recent memory.
Thor: Ragnarok
This is one of the best movies in the Avengers extended franchise that will keep you on the edge of your seats. It is beautiful, visually spectacular and doesn’t let you take your eyes off the screen for a minute. Though I had a hard time choosing between The Avengers and Thor: Ragnarok, I am choosing the latter because of its spectacular cast and even more impeccable storyline.
Apart from these, I really liked Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy. Also, X: Men First Class counts as one of my all-time favorite. Which movies do you like the most? Let me know in the comments below.
